Bastard

Bastard  [often misused in the pejorative indicating a bad man]

1) fatherless

lacking a male role model or adult mentor

2) disenfranchised

lacking the means or right to engage in an economic enterprise
or participate in the marketplace of providing goods or services

3) without inheritance

A bastard in the logical sense is a hapless victim of circumstance: i.e., an orphan, and ought to be an object of pity.

A female can also be said to be a bastard.

Historically, a protagonist in the ongoing conflict between hereditary heir and bastard           (in proprietary cultures only).

4) a person born and/or conceived out of wedlock
