What Is The Truth About Veteran Suicides?

While the accuracy or the veracity of their sources may be debated I can only add this: I once attempted to comfort a fellow veteran who had only recently slashed his wrists. I’ve also spent time with another young veteran who failed in an attempted suicide through self-immolation: he was a ghastly mass of scar tissue down to his waist, he had neither hair, nor ears, nor nose, nor lips and no eyelids.  A deathmask. A grinning skull.
