Addiction

In the understanding and comprehension of an issue it sometimes helps to analyze or decompress a term or expression. Addiction is one such term. The prefix “ad” or “add” is simple enough to understand: A + B = C: but in conjunction with “dictate”, the term “addiction” is better understood as “an added dictator”.

In the exercise of your free will you wish to go from A to B, but this “added dictator” forcibly diverts you to C. Anything and everything that is addictive alters your behavior and can subtract from or altogether substitute and eliminate your own free will. One may thus argue that addiction is slavery.
