We may never know why, shortly after our American born Merriam-Webster, Inc. and its many, many dictionaries and publications were purchased by and became a subsidiary of the British Encyclopædia Britannica in The Year of The Poison Pill (1964) that, under the FEMINISM entry, the cultic definition reference was redacted.
